Salvus is a driver safety app designed to make roads safer by alerting you about speeding vehicles nearby. Whether you are commuting in the city or driving on highways, Salvus helps you stay aware of risky traffic situations and reduce the chance of accidents.

The app uses your device’s GPS to determine location, speed, and heading.

When a nearby vehicle is detected exceeding the local speed limit, Salvus can notify users in the area in real time.

By driving responsibly, every user contributes anonymously to safer roads.

👥 Driver & Passenger roles (Safety first)

Before starting a session, you are asked to confirm your role in the vehicle:

Driver
Drivers are not allowed to actively use the app while driving. When Driver mode is selected, notifications are disabled to prevent distraction.

Passenger
Passengers can safely receive real-time alerts and notifications.
Notification permission is requested only if Passenger mode is selected.

This role-based flow ensures compliance with road safety best practices and minimizes driver distraction.

🌍 Country-based access

For the initial launch, Salvus is available in Bulgaria.

Free access is available up to a limited number of active users per country.

If the active user limit is reached, a subscription is required to continue using the service.

Availability may expand to additional countries in future updates.

Notifications are shown only for passengers.

Alerts are rate-limited to avoid spam and unnecessary interruptions.

Notifications collapse and update in real time, so you are only alerted when it truly matters.

Background location support ensures awareness even when the app is not open (when permitted).

Requires GPS access set to “Allow all the time” for accurate detection.
