User Reviews

The app can flash Raspberry Pi images from Android and is helpful for some users, but it’s hampered by significant reliability and compatibility issues. It’s often described as outdated with limited OS support (missing Pi 5/64-bit), with poor storage selection UX and various Android-related restrictions causing inconsistent performance. Overall, usable for a subset of users but flaky or unsupported for many.
Pros
  • Core functionality exists: it can flash OS images to SD cards from Android.
  • App is usable for some users and is described as doing exactly what it's meant to.
  • Allows flashing OS images directly from a phone, offering a mobile alternative to a PC.
  • Supports some Raspberry Pi OS images (e.g., Raspberry Pi OS 32-bit, Noobs Lite) despite limitations.
  • Some reviewers express appreciation and positive sentiment toward the app.
Cons
  • Outdated app with limited OS support (no Pi 5, no 64-bit OS) and outdated Android compatibility.
  • Reliability issues: many users report failures to write, or not getting past pending, across multiple SD cards.
  • Poor storage/selection UX: cannot choose which storage to write to; at times only /dev/null is selectable; workaround required.
  • Android/platform compatibility problems and device limitations (e.g., Kindle/Chromebook restrictions, background process issues).
  • Buggy behavior like writes going to /dev/null or data being discarded.

It is fine and easy to use, but all it does is write NOOBS V3.5 to your sd card, no matter what os you select, and NOOBS is outdated and was Replaced with PINN.
