Read with Spire

“Read with SPIRE” is a voice recording app on the Play Store to share your recordings with SPIRE Lab at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. This app has been designed and developed at SPIRE Lab, IISc, Bangalore. “Read with SPIRE” records read sentences along with speaker details and shares with SPIRE Lab. It is free to use and one can conduct multiple recording sessions to record 200 sentences.


Here are some key features of the app:

- It records in wav format (PCM) with single channel and 16KHz sampling frequency
- One can add the metadata of the speaker
- Preview option is available for each recording. You can take an action to upload/re-record the recording based on the quality check after listening.
- Dedicated ‘Stop’ recording button
- Dedicated ‘Play’ audio recording button
- Dedicated recording log displaying all necessary details for each recording
- Delete and share multiple recordings
- Automatic file sharing
- Enable recording and playing with Bluetooth headset
- Enable recording and playback should work with headphone
