Review summary

Users appreciate Mi WalkingPad app's easy pairing with various treadmill models and its improved Google Fit synchronization compared to official apps. The interface is user-friendly, allowing control over speed and remote features, with premium offering enhanced stats access. However, frequent Bluetooth connection problems hinder reliable syncing, and speed is capped at 6 km/h despite higher hardware capability. Activity logging is often incomplete, with sessions lost or interrupted due to rest mode triggers. Manual synchronization with health apps is inconvenient, and detailed daily statistics and accurate time zone settings are missing. Overall, the app shows promise but requires stability and feature enhancements.
Pros
  • Easy connection and pairing with various models of walking pads and treadmills.
  • Syncing capabilities with Google Fit/Health, often better than official apps.
  • User-friendly interface with control features such as speed adjustment and remote control functionality.
  • Premium version offers additional features like viewing historical stats and improved synchronization.
  • Works well with multiple brands like MiPad, Dynamax RunningPad, and Kingsmith WalkingPad.
Cons
  • Inconsistent Bluetooth connection leading to frequent syncing and verification failures.
  • Speed control limited to 6 km/h in app despite hardware supporting higher speeds.
  • Activity logging issues such as missing session data or automatic switching to rest mode stopping tracking.
  • No automatic or background sync with Google Fit; manual sync required.
  • Limited statistics granularity and improper time zone handling in data reports.

Does not seem to support the WalkingPad Z1 model - the scan finds it but cannot verify the connection. Would be nice if it were compatible.

It's got almost the same functionality as the official app. Google Fit synchronisation works better here - not only steps are uploaded, but also activities with calories burnt. It's a hit and miss when it comes to logging historical workouts (performed with no phone connected) and sometimes if your phone kills the app during a workout, your progress may be gone. Usually does what it's supposed to do perfectly. Currently the official app is such a garbage that I'm super glad this one exists.
