Rumbling - The note taking app

Rumbling is a minimalist, local-first notes and habit tracker with a clean terminal-inspired interface. Write in plain Markdown, track your daily goals, and — if you want — sync everything to a GitHub repository you own and control.

No account required. No servers. No tracking. Your notes live on your device, and you decide if and where they sync.

• Markdown notes — write in plain Markdown with live styling as you type. The first line becomes the note title automatically.

• Habit & goal tracker — set daily goals, check them off, and watch your streaks build on a calendar view.

• Local-first — the app works fully offline. Create, edit, and organize notes with no sign-in needed.

• Optional GitHub sync — connect your GitHub account to back up and sync your notes and goals to a repository you own (for example "rumbling-notes"). Your data stays in your account, never ours.

• Daily reminders — optional local notifications nudge you to write and check in on your habits.

• Terminal themes — choose from several hacker-inspired color schemes, including the classic terminal green, Nord, and a high-contrast neubrutalism theme. Light and dark, plus follow-system.

• Open and portable — because notes are plain Markdown files in your own Git repo, your data is never locked in. Read or edit it anywhere.

Rumbling has no backend, no analytics, no ads. The only network connection it makes is to GitHub's official API, and only after you choose to sign in. Your GitHub token is stored securely on your device using encrypted storage. We never see your notes or your data.
