Philips HearLink 2 Android

Philips HearLink 2

Control your hearing aids discreetly with the touch of a finger

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Philips HearLink 2 lets you discreetly control your hearing aids from your mobile device. Adjust sound volume for each aid together or separately, mute surroundings, switch between programs set by your hearing care professional, check battery levels, and stream calls, music, and podcasts directly to your hearing aids (availability varies by phone model). The app also helps you find lost hearing aids, manage paired wireless accessories (TV Adapters, AudioClip), and connect to Auracast™ broadcasts on supported models.

First use requires pairing your hearing aids with the app. Some advanced features — streaming equalizer, sound equalizer, Philips Journal progress tracking, and Auracast™ — are model-dependent (see compatibility). Access in-app support, troubleshooting, and schedule online visits with your hearing care professional. For best performance, keep your device OS updated and check latest compatible devices at hearingsolutions.philips.com/compatibility.

User Reviews

Reviews consistently praise the HearLink 2 app for basic usability and controllability when it works, but multiple users report recurring Bluetooth pairing and connectivity problems, instability after updates, trouble with streaming audio routing controls, and inconsistent volume/ear balance. These reliability and control issues overshadow the positive usability feedback for many users.
Pros
  • Easy-to-use app interface and basic usability when it runs.
  • App provides straightforward control over hearing aids (volume and settings).
  • Phone calls can be routed through the hearing aids, improving call experience for some users.
  • Overall good function and reliability when the app is working as intended.
Cons
  • Frequent Bluetooth connectivity and pairing failures with the app, including repeated disconnects.
  • App instability after updates: cannot open, or it won't stay open and requires re-opening or toggling Bluetooth.
  • Streaming audio routing controls do not work as expected (no easy way to switch or emulate wired mode).
  • Inconsistent volume control and balance, especially right-ear volume drifting or reverting to equal levels.

this app competes with every Bluetooth item that I use with my phone. I have to tell my phone to forget my hearing aids if I want to use Bluetooth on something else from my phone. what a pain.
