Petal Diary Android

Petal Diary

A daily mood journal — press one bloom a day.

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Petal Diary is a quiet daily mood journal. Every day you press a small bloom into your diary — pick the petal whose colour fits how the day felt, from a Sunlit yellow to a Bruised violet, and, if you like, add a short note. Over time the pages fill into a herbarium of your months. Keep checking in and your streak grows.

TODAY (home)
The home screen opens with the current week along the top — seven pressed petals, one per day, tappable to revisit. Below it, the simple question: which bloom for today? Seven petal colours sit there, each with its own emoji. Tap one, add a line about your day if you want, and press it. A streak card just below shows how many days in a row your herbarium has grown, and two doors at the foot of the screen lead to the rest of the app.

THE HERBARIUM (calendar)
The Herbarium is the heart of the app: a full month laid out as a spread of pressed petals, every logged day a soft-rounded shape in its mood's colour with the emoji on it. Flip through the months and watch each one fill in. Below the calendar, a breakdown shows how the month's blooms fell, one bar per colour. Tap any day to open or edit it.

THE DAY (per-day detail)
Every day has its own page. A big bloom shows how it felt, with the note beneath it. Step back and forth a day at a time, change the petal, edit the note, or loosen the press entirely. Past days are always editable, so a missed day is easy to add later.

THE BLOOMS (trends & settings)
The Blooms gathers the numbers: your current streak, best streak, total blooms pressed, and your average bloom. A fourteen-day strip shows the recent run at a glance — taller, warmer bars are brighter days, gaps are days you skipped — and a card names your most common bloom so far. The same screen holds your preferences: haptic feedback, the leather-dusk or warm-paper palette, and whether the week starts on Monday.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
All entries are encrypted on your device with AES, using a key stored in the Android Keystore. The released app has no INTERNET permission at all — it physically cannot send anything anywhere. There is no account, no cloud, no sync, no notifications, and nothing is ever transmitted.

Petal Diary starts with a little recent history seeded in so the herbarium is never empty, and you can clear everything and start fresh at any time. It does not gamify, nag, or guilt. It simply asks one honest question a day, and presses the colours.
