User Reviews

Users acknowledge the app’s security intent and that it can work when set up, but most reviews report major problems: device/QR re‑registration failures, poor/slow support, forced use of personal phones (not allowed in many schools), and authentication loops that lock people out and prevent access to resources.
Pros
  • Provides an added layer of security / enforces two‑factor authentication to prevent password sharing
  • Works correctly for some users once the app is set up (functions as intended for them)
  • Account reset/recovery via Pearson support or email is possible (though not always fast)
Cons
  • Changing devices or deleting the app commonly prevents re‑authentication — QR code generation/scan issues lock users out
  • Support is frequently described as slow, hard to reach, or unable to resolve access problems quickly
  • Forces use of a Pearson‑specific authenticator instead of standard apps, causing frustration
  • Requires use of a personal mobile device, which conflicts with many schools' phone/safeguarding policies
  • Authentication failures/loops and frequent logouts that waste time and block access to paid resources

Very poor and complicated system. Doesn't work automatically. Every time I go on to this app it needs resetting.

Beyond frustrating. I wish I could give zero stars. That we are forced to use this app on private phones (and it then doesn't work) is making us consider changing our whole school systems so that we have nothing to do with Pearson.
