OverDrive is widely appreciated for providing free access to thousands of audiobooks via public libraries, with easy downloads for offline listening, making it convenient for travel and daily use. Users value features like multiple library support and reading history tracking. However, common issues include random pausing of audio, inconvenient hold limits and waits, occasional incomplete audiobook chapters, and playback glitches such as app stopping when the screen turns off. While generally user-friendly, some find navigation and certain controls less intuitive or limited compared to desktop versions.

I LOVE audio books. This app allows me to download hundreds of books from my library right from the comfort of my own home or anywhere there is an internet connection. Quick, easy amazing! Update: 5/14/22 It's been several years and I still love this app. I switched to another library app and it is not as reliable as this once. You can download the books onto your phone so you can listen when your off line.Try it. Please don't get rid of this app.

Editing review: I've been using this app for years and love the concept, the variety, everything. But the past 6 months to a year the narration just pauses. There seems to be no rhyme or reason, doesn't matter if my screen is on or off, app is open or closed, close to my phone or far when using BT, it just randomly pauses whenever it wants. It's extremely annoying. I hope this is fixed with the new app Libby. Easy to use and tons of new books and classics!!
