View and download Meshtastic and MeshCore nodes in real time on offline maps
Off-Mesh is a native Android app designed to visualize, monitor, and plan communications on decentralized networks based on Meshtastic and MeshCore.
Designed for amateur radio operators, preppers, hikers, emergency responders, and anyone interested in off-grid communications, Off-Mesh lets you see active mesh network nodes in your country and around the world in real time, without relying on centralized servers or conventional telecommunications infrastructure.
WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH OFF-MESH
— View all active Meshtastic and MeshCore nodes in your area or any country on a map, color-coded according to the modem preset: LongFast, MediumFast, ShortFast, and more.
— Tap any node and instantly see its direct connections to the rest of the mesh, drawn on the map. They remain visible until you tap them.
— View technical information for each node: hardware, firmware, battery, SNR, RSSI, hops, network role, and last seen time.
— PLAN LINKS with FREE PATH: Mark any two points on the map, and Off-Mesh calculates the route between the nearest nodes, tells you how many hops are needed, and colors each segment according to terrain visibility, using real elevation data.
— If the destination is unreachable, the app clearly indicates this and shows you the nearest point you can move to so the message arrives. Ideal for planning before heading out into the field.
— In MeshCore, plot the direct link between two points with distance and terrain analysis, useful for deciding where to place a repeater.
— Search by LOCATION or NODE. Type the name of a city, and the map flies there; or activate NODE mode and find your own node by typing its short or long name, with instant autocomplete and no internet connection required.
— Filter by RADIO: Choose a center and a range of 1 to 500 km with a slider. Nodes and connections outside the circle disappear from the map.
— Measure distances on the map with the ruler tool.
— Download OFFLINE MAPS of your country, region, or autonomous community in vector, satellite, or both versions independently. You can delete each type separately. Compatible with all countries, with detailed subdivisions for Spain, the United States, Italy, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, and Canada.
— Switch between five map styles: Liberty, Positron, Bright, Dark, and Satellite.
— Mark a target position with a long press and get distance and bearing from your GPS.
— Share your location or the target position via any messaging app.
— Day and night modes.
— Interface translated into Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese, with automatic language detection.
TECHNOLOGY
Off-Mesh is a native Android application built with React Native and MapLibre. Vector maps are sourced from OpenFreeMap, based on OpenStreetMap® data. Satellite mode uses imagery from ESRI World Imagery. Terrain analysis uses SRTM elevation data: it detects mountains and topography, but not buildings or vegetation, something the app honestly warns you about.
Nodes are synchronized from the meshtastic.es and meshmap.net APIs for Meshtastic, and map.meshcore.io for MeshCore. The app does not require an account, does not store personal data, and does not send any of your information to external servers.
WHO IS IT FOR?
— Meshtastic and MeshCore users who want to view the network on a clean and fast map.
— Amateur radio operators interested in LoRa networks.
— Emergency and civil protection teams.
— Hikers and adventurers in areas without coverage.
— Preppers seeking communication independence. — Decentralized technology enthusiasts.
