Funeral home administrators use Obitix to run the day: new cases, staff assignments, live transport status, documents, notifications, and organization settings. Removal technicians use it on the road to accept jobs, scan QR codes, log custody events, take photos, record voice notes, and share live location while a transport is active. Families use a simpler view to see where their loved one is in the process and when new updates or documents are available.

TRANSPORT AND CASE MANAGEMENT

Create a transport with pickup and destination details, assign a technician, and follow the case from scheduled to in progress, in transit, and completed. The dashboard shows active jobs, completed work, and recent activity so the funeral home always knows what is happening. Multiple locations and organizations are supported so teams can switch context without losing the case record.

LIVE GPS TRACKING

When a technician starts an active transport, Obitix can share GPS so funeral home staff and the family can see the vehicle on a live map. Background location is used only during an active transport. Technicians are often driving with the phone locked or in another app, so tracking must continue until pickup or delivery is complete. Location is not used for advertising, marketing, or unrelated tracking. When the transport ends, live sharing stops.

CHAIN OF CUSTODY

Every handoff can be recorded with time, place, and the person responsible. Technicians scan QR codes linked to the decedent, add custody events, and keep a digital log that funeral home staff can review. This gives the organization a clearer record for internal review, family questions, and compliance needs.

Generate and scan QR codes for each case so the right record is opened at the scene. Technicians can capture photos at pickup, transfer, and delivery, attach notes, and record voice logs when typing is not practical.
