Review summary

Calorie Counter+ is praised for its easy, intuitive food diary, strong UK-focused food database with a reliable barcode scanner, and thorough tracking of calories, macros, workouts, and weight with clear progress graphs. It also offers motivational community features. The main drawbacks are a pricing model that shifts to paid upgrades after a trial and a lite version that limits daily entries, which can deter long-term use.
Pros
  • Easy-to-use food diary with a clean interface
  • Extensive UK food database and reliable barcode scanner
  • Comprehensive tracking: calories, macros, workouts, and weight with clear progress graphs
  • Flexible macro tracking and convenient entry options (by weight or volume)
  • Helpful community features, magazine and user stories for motivation
Cons
  • Pricing model relies on paid upgrades after a short trial; free features are limited
  • Lite version restricts adding only a small number of items per day, limiting daily tracking

Really easy to use. Also over a 3 or 4 day period you can easily see how a calorie deficit (eating less than the app says you need) translates into losing weight. Getting decent early feedback is encouraging me that this is actually working.
