You can view NoTap as a challenging finger input video game that takes a while to learn, but soon becomes very useful in the real world. It works on the principle of an efficiency hierchy where the most used letter motions (vowels e.g.) are the quickest and easiest to write. These motions are set in stone but have a lot of variation so mistakes can be few if written at the right speed. It took over twenty years of methodical experimentation to find the motions and then get them in the correct positions for English.

NoTap was developed by and for the creator to bypass the tiny keyboard and increase text input endurance and greatly reduce eye strain. Anyone who would like to follow along this new path is welcome to give it a try.

It is a "blind" handwriting system. That is writing without keys or a keyboard, without looking at written strokes. Just clean smooth motions — and your text appears on screen. It is English / Euro compatible which means when you write these shorter motions, both your brain and had will quickly adjust. (NoTap provides European language and smartwatch support.)

NoTap is a completely new way to write on your Android smartphone. It is on par with Morris code, American sign language and Braille. VOICE OUTPUT OPTION
NoTap includes an optional voice output feature for low sighted users with five levels of spoken feedback:
- Text as you write
- Last 4 letters — check your most recent input as you go
- Last word — confirm the word you just completed
- Last sentence — review before moving on to next period
- Full text — hear everything you have composed from start to finish

Voice output is optional — use it when you need it, turn it off when you don't. You can use headphones to keep the talk-back writing quiet and personal.
