Construction Calculator App

A construction calculator that adds, subtracts, multiplies and divides feet, inches and fractions the way a tape reads: 5' 3-1/2" + 2' 11-7/8" = 8' 3-3/8".

THE CALCULATOR (FREE, NO ADS)
• Type lengths with the Feet, Inch and a/b keys: 5 Feet 3 Inch 1 a/b 2 is 5' 3-1/2"
• Answers in feet and inches, inches, decimal feet and millimetres
• Round to 1/2", 1/4", 1/8", 1/16", 1/32" or 1/64"
• A length times a length gives square feet; times a third, cubic feet and cubic yards
• Divide a length by a length: 12' ÷ 16" = 9
• A tape shows each line you entered

PRO, ONE PAYMENT
• Stairs: from the total rise, a side view drawn to scale, the risers and treads, total run, stringer length and angle, the stairwell opening for 6' 8" of headroom (from the top riser, nosing included), a check of riser and tread against the IRC limits (riser up to 7-3/4", tread at least 10"; your local code decides), a note when the rise needs a landing, and a step-by-step layout
• Rafters: a drawing with the rise, the common rafter, the tail for a level overhang, the hip or valley, the length per foot of run for any pitch, and the jack rafters of a hip roof at your spacing
• Right triangle: any two of rise, run and diagonal give the third, drawn with the angle and the pitch
• Saved jobs: keep a sheet's numbers under a job name on your phone and open them again later
• You pay once through Google Play. No subscription.

Lengths are kept as exact fractions, not rounded decimals, and the rafter lengths per foot of run match the framing square's tables.

The IRC is published by the International Code Council; this app is not affiliated with it.
