BurnDates: Burn Ban Alerts

Is your county under a burn ban today? BurnDates reads the state's own published burn-ban list and shows you the answer for your county: the status, who published it, and when it was last checked. Turn on alerts and the app tells you the moment your county's status changes.

BurnDates is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government agency. It shows information published by the agencies named as each source.

WHAT YOU GET, FREE
• County burn bans and burn restrictions for 12 states, read from each state's forestry or agriculture agency every six hours: Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas
• Burn ban alerts: a notification when a saved county's ban starts, lifts or changes to restrictions, naming the source and the time it was checked
• Burn bans near me: one tap turns your position into your county on the phone (only the county's name is ever sent)
• Up to five saved counties, each with its own alert switch
• National forest fire restrictions, this week's US Drought Monitor reading for your county, metro no-burn days where a district publishes them, and Washington DNR burn rules for the land it protects
• A history of each county's status changes
• Works offline: the last status you loaded stays on the phone, marked with the time it was checked; anything older than 48 hours reads as unverified, never as "no ban"

HONEST BY DESIGN
A status in BurnDates is a reading of a published source, never permission to burn. Every screen and every alert says who published it and when we checked. Rules change fast in dry weather: confirm with your county's fire marshal or burn line before you light.

MISSOURI AND WASHINGTON
Neither state publishes a statewide county burn-ban list, so the app cannot show a live county status there. It shows what does exist: drought conditions, federal-land restrictions, Washington DNR's rules for DNR-protected land, and the best place to check for your county.

PRIVACY
No account, no sign-in, no ads, no tracking. BurnDates never sends your position: Android turns it into a county, and only the county's name reaches us. Alerts use Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging; we hold nothing that identifies your device. Privacy policy: burndates.com/apps/android/privacy/
