NoCognito uses Android's AccessibilityService API to detect when a blocked app becomes active in the foreground and immediately redirects the user away from it. This is the sole purpose of the Accessibility permission. No screen content, keystrokes, personal data, or user inputs are read, recorded, stored, or transmitted. All detection happens locally on-device. This feature is core to NoCognito's app-blocking functionality and cannot be achieved through any other Android API.

VPN SERVICE NOTICE:

NoCognito uses Android's VpnService API to power DNS Protection. This creates a local VPN tunnel entirely on-device to filter DNS queries and block domains associated with pornographic and explicit content at the network level. No internet traffic is routed through external servers. No data is logged, stored, or transmitted. The VPN tunnel exists solely on your device and is core to NoCognito's content-blocking functionality. All processing happens locally on-device, and no browsing data leaves your device.
