User Reviews

Users appreciate Newsweek's well-written journalism and up-to-date news, especially the website version, but the Android app suffers from technical issues like frequent crashes, poor scrolling behavior, and problematic notifications. Many complain about intrusive ads and mandatory login requirements, which harm user experience. Despite content quality, app usability problems are significant and need fixing.
Pros
  • Provides up-to-the-minute news updates.
  • Contains well-written and informative stories on the website version.
  • Informs about the latest events and Covid-19 status.
  • Has good traditional journalism values.
  • Has a dedicated user base that appreciates the content.
Cons
  • App frequently crashes and freezes after updates.
  • Scrolling issues where page jumps unexpectedly while reading articles.
  • Notification system not working or delayed, sometimes no new headlines for extended periods.
  • Requires login and email, which users find intrusive.
  • Too many intrusive pop-up ads and unwanted ad content (e.g., dermatology-related images).

Makes you register to even view any single article... nope. You don't get my info without me knowing if your news is worth it. My personal information is valuable, and you don't get it for free. Uninstalled without reading a single article!

Beautifully disfunctional: It rejects the password that I entered even the password is correct. Every time I want to reset the password, it sends a link that goes nowhere. When I was logged in I could not post. Eratic: I was able to post few days ago, but now is asking me to login, even if I am logged in. Reinstalled, but no luck.Postings became more and more biased. Too bad, as I turned to Neesweek hoping for a moderate reporting.I have a suspicion that moderate postings earn you a censorship .

A very informative app. It provides the latest news plus the why and how of what has happened. In addition, it stores news for offline reading.
