Mykko helps you decide where to go mushroom hunting before you even get in the car: information on designated mushroom hunting areas in Spain with their permits, rainfall data for the last month by area, and a catalog of individually documented mushroom patches.

The information on designated areas and rainfall data is free and can be accessed without creating an account. Mushroom patches can be purchased individually starting at €0.99, without a subscription.

Mykko is a private and independent service, not an official application of any government agency. The sources for each piece of data are listed in its entry and at the end of this description.

FREE · DOES A PERMIT REQUIRE HERE?
More than 140 designated mushroom hunting areas in over 430 municipalities across 15 regions. Each entry includes:

• Who manages it, with their contact information and official website.

• How to obtain a permit, with a link to the official application process.

• The cost per day, weekend, or season.

• The permitted harvest quantity and days.

• Minimum sizes and prohibited practices.

• Which regulation supports the information and the date it was verified.

If information is not found in any official source, the record states this. Mykko does not sell or manage permits: it guides you through the official process.

FREE · WHERE IT HAS RAINED
Rainfall over the last 30 days in each mushroom-bearing area, and its season month by month. Before traveling 200 kilometers, check the conditions in the area.

DOCUMENTED MUSHROOM BEDDING
More than 1,000 mushroom-bearing areas documented by our field team in over forty territories: Pinares de Soria, Urbión and Neila, Sierra de Albarracín, Alto Tajo, Serranía de Cuenca, Maestrazgo, Sierra de Guadarrama, Ripollès, Gorbeia, Baztán, and more.

A mushroom-bearing area is a specific area of ​​woodland. You can view the complete information sheet before paying:

• Which forest it is: dominant species and soil type.

• What the terrain is like: area, altitude, slope, and aspect.

• When it's typically in season, month by month.

• Which mushrooms are listed there: porcini, saffron milk caps, chanterelles, and more.

Upon purchase, the following are added:

• How to get there and where to park.

• A map of the mushroom spot in three layers: map, satellite, and topographic from the IGN (National Geographic Institute).

• The rainfall for the last month and the soil conditions at that location.

• A downloadable file for offline use: there is no cell service in the mountains.

• Does not guarantee that you will find mushrooms.

• Does not identify species or indicate which ones are edible.

• Does not issue collection permits or access rights. If you have any doubts about a mushroom, consult a mycologist or a mushroom association.
