I activated my ticket as the train pulled up and I had my ticket scanned right after boarding. then got a warning that my ticket was scanned too soon and they were going to charge me if it happened again! just stick to paper tickets and avoid their nonsense!!

2026-07-29	Ax*****	why is the train never held accountable? 5-10 minutes late, where are the repercussions? should honestly take notes from japan, if a train is even 2 minutes late they make a public apology. pay extra for late service.....spitui

2026-07-10	Sa*****	I have no idea how to explain this: but the app stayed live in my hand as I boarded the train and added TWO WEEKDAY PASSES, $100. I tried clicking the refund button and it said I wasn't eligible, no email or phone to contact! this is 6x what I'm supposed to pay for a single ride with no one to help! I want my money back!!

2026-06-30	Wa*****	App gave me a warning about a surcharge when I was running for the train and I just got on it before it started moving. The 24 hours expiration date is annoying and causes more issues than solving them. It's better to buy the physical ticket that buying it on the app, and I guess use the app as a last resort so you won't be charged $8 extra

2026-06-28	Fr*****	Only New York City MTA could find a way to make an APP LESS convenient than buying a ticket! They will literally charge you $8 for DARING to activate the ticket YOU PRE-PAID after you've gotten on the train (instead of before when train hasn't arrived... sheer stupidity). Well this just solidifies my decision to go back to paper to avoid being penalized very stupidly. The ticket expires and of day so I don't see the point of the fine except GREED. I guess someone has to pay for NYC socialism.
