Speaker Test: Subwoofer & Bass

Check any speaker in minutes. This speaker test plays clean tones and sweeps through your phone, headphones, soundbar, car stereo or home theater, and walks you step by step through finding the lowest bass your subwoofer can play.

FIND YOUR SUBWOOFER'S LOW LIMIT
• Guided test from 100 Hz down to 15 Hz in 5 Hz steps
• You answer by ear after each step has played for 2 seconds: steady tone, not sure, or can't hear
• Steps near the edge are played again to confirm
• The result is the lowest step you heard with this speaker at this volume. There is no score or grade.
• Buzzing, rattling or only feeling vibration counts as can't hear, so rattles don't inflate the result

A 440 Hz tone plays for 5 seconds with one tap on the home screen. You know sound is coming out before you go further.

READY-MADE TESTS
• Frequency sweep 20 Hz – 20 kHz: tap the live Hz reading to mark a rattle or dropout and replay it later
• Subwoofer sweep 20 – 200 Hz for the low end
• Left channel and right channel tones to find which speaker is which
• Stereo tone, centred between both speakers
• Polarity A/B at 100 Hz: in phase, then inverted, three rounds. If B is clearly quieter, the pair is wired correctly. If B is as loud or louder, one speaker's + and − are swapped.

TONE GENERATOR
Dial any frequency from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Logarithmic slider, ±1 and ±10 Hz buttons and preset chips (20, 60, 100, 250, 440 Hz, 1k, 4k, 10k, 20k). Waveforms: sine, square, triangle, sawtooth, white noise and pink noise. Output to left, right, both, or inverted.

CHECKLIST YOU CAN SHARE
Eight checks: left channel, right channel, stereo balance, bass, mids, treble, no distortion at volume, no rattle or buzz. Each check that has a matching test shows a "played" tag once that test ran to the end, so you can tell a heard result from a guess. Share the report as text.

PROTECT YOUR EARS AND GEAR
Turn the phone and amplifier down first and raise the level slowly. Loud test tones can damage speakers and hearing. Phone speakers can't reproduce deep bass, so connect the system you want to test before running the subwoofer steps.
