Review summary

Users report significant connectivity and syncing issues with the LARQ Android app, resulting in inaccurate or missing water intake data. The app often shows time zone errors, with no option to adjust, disrupting daily tracking. Compared to the iOS app, the Android version lacks features like manual entry, reminders, and integration with health platforms. While some users appreciate the sleek design and successful connections, many find the app unreliable and incomplete for the price of the device, expressing hopes for improved updates and bug fixes.
Pros
  • The app successfully connects to the LARQ water bottle for some users.
  • The app allows tracking of water intake and filter life once connected and working properly.
  • Firmware update can be done via the app during setup.
  • The app design is sleek and visually appealing.
  • The app has potential and users are hopeful for future improvements.
Cons
  • The app has frequent connectivity issues with the bottle, often disconnecting or failing to sync water intake.
  • Water intake tracking is often inaccurate or does not update properly.
  • Time zone bugs cause daily hydration tracking to be off by about 12 hours with no option to change.
  • Lacks key features such as manual water intake logging, integration with health apps, reminders, and widget support.
  • Android version is less featured and stable compared to the iOS version, leading to user frustration.

Absolutely terrible. Missing basic features of any tracking water bottle. Can't manually add which is a miss since it doesn't seem like it can track on its own. I can drink a whole bottle and it registers as zero even though it's connected. Spent too much money on a "dumb" water bottle. Be "smart" and fix this

The app's battery life indicator is a full shaded image; despite a charge time of less than a day, it has lasted nearly four weeks. I removed the filter to verify the app's filter life percentage. It began at 100% upon installation on December 22nd; by December 28th, it showed 92%, after only two uses with tap water. To test the accuracy, I removed the filter completely, and the percentage continued to decrease. It went down to 77% on January 5th, even without use.

I never leave a review, but I'm disappointed beyond belief between the IOS Larq app and the android/google. I switched today from IPhone to the Google pixel and it took me a while to connect to my water bottle, I can't check the battery life or input water intake I had, I can't check the stats of how much plastic waste I've saved like the IOS. Im astonished how little features we get for such an expensive item. Why not make every app the same?

Honestly, I'm having a fantastic experience with the app. It synced to my bottle just fine, I've been able to track my water intake, and the design is sleek. In addition, it displays the life of my filter. Although, I expect to see a widget roll out in the future. Once added, I will give 5 stars.

Just got this for Christmas, disappointed, I was excited to see the android app and after day 1, noticed the device wasn't syncing my consumption and always offline. I uninstalled and killed the app many many many times. Please fix this as I have seen this is something others are experiencing. :( want to love this bottle and love what it does. Help!

Changing my review since the issue with the time sync seems to have been fixed. If it had manual editing & an audible drink reminder, I'd give it a higher rating. My actual rating now is 3.5 stars, but I can't figure out how to give half a star.

Overall it serves its purpose, connection and setup was relatively straightforward and I was able to update the firmware upon setup. Unfortunately lost a star due to sparse data provided for intake tracking information, in addition some of the details are semi cut off at the bottom of the screen even though the app is running in full screen mode. Integration with either Samsung Health or Google Fit would be welcomed. With regards to notifications, I have yet to get any, like take a drink etc.

The android version of this app is terrible. Constantly says I'm disconnected and doesn't track water intake accurately. So unable to edit drink reminders at all so now it constantly flashes even when I'm trying to go to sleep. Sucks. Very disappointed.

After updating firmware it just said "no internet, try again", no confirmation message that it completed, but I assume it did because it now says in settings that it is up to date. Birthday defaults to current day, doesn't have a good date selector. It prompts for weight and height, but didn't find any obvious way to enter it, as when you click the drop down, all you get is a field that says 0, and a button that says "done". No keyboard, no other selector.

There is no way to set up reminders for the app notifications, or for the bottle itself to light up. it is advertised that is possible, but I guess they don't care for Android users.
