Here's how to use ReppoChat

■ Your conversations never leave your device
- Every chat is processed locally on your phone, no internet required
- AI inference and chat history aren't sent to external servers or the cloud
- It works just fine in airplane mode

■ The AI runs right on your phone
- An inference engine built on an open-source language model generates replies directly on your device
- Download one model file to use the app offline. Choose between a standard model and a high-spec model; file size varies by model (the actual size is shown on the download screen)
- You can optionally download another model and keep both files on your device
* We recommend downloading the model over Wi-Fi

■ Make your own characters
- Set the name, personality, speech style, likes, dislikes, and background story however you want
- Start from the default presets or create as many personas as you want

■ Conversations that remember and continue
- The more you talk, the closer your character feels — and important facts, promises, and emotional context are saved as long-term memory
- You can edit or pin key memories yourself
* Because the AI runs as a local on-device model, it has performance limits, so its memory of conversations may not be perfect

■ Chat with photos
- Attach a photo and your character responds based on what's in it
- Photo recognition is 100% on-device, and photos are never sent anywhere (not even when you report)
- Photos are picked via the system photo picker, so no extra permission is needed
* Photo recognition uses a lot of memory; on devices with limited memory it may be slow or the app may occasionally close

■ Use it with peace of mind
- The local database is encrypted
- 16+ rating, with safety filters in place
- PIN and biometric app lock are supported
- Message bodies are never sent to our servers

■ You can take your data with you
- Export an encrypted .reppo backup file to move or archive your data
- Only you, with the backup password, can open it

■ Recommended specs
- Android 9.0 (API 28) or higher
- 6 GB RAM or more required (devices with less than 6 GB are not supported for chat)
- Standard model recommends 6 GB+ RAM; the high-spec model recommends 12 GB+ RAM
- About 5 GB free space per model; keeping multiple models needs additional space accordingly
