KTI Service

KTI Service is a private, enterprise mobile application built for KTI's authorised field-service engineers. The app helps engineers manage assigned tasks, capture on-site service activity, and submit signed reports — all reliably, even when the engineer is working in a location without an internet connection.

WHO IS THIS APP FOR
KTI Service is a B2B internal tool. It is restricted to KTI's own field-service engineers and requires credentials issued by a KTI administrator. The general public cannot sign up for or use this app.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• View assigned tasks across multiple KTI entities, with full task context, customer details, and required documents.
• Fill out structured service reports, commissioning reports, quality reports, certificates of completion, and checklists directly on-site.
• Capture timesheet entries against each task with date, time, and overlap detection.
• Generate digital delivery notes anchored to the time entries they belong to.
• Attach photographs taken with the device camera to any report.
• Capture customer signatures on-screen as part of the delivery flow.
• Geo-stamp service reports and delivery notes at the time of creation so the office knows where the work was carried out.
• Receive real-time push notifications when a task is assigned, a report is reviewed, or a status changes.

WORKS WITHOUT A CONNECTION
KTI Service is built offline-first. Tasks and supporting master data are downloaded and stored securely on the device, so engineers can keep working through patchy or absent connectivity. Every report, signature, photograph, and timesheet entry is saved locally first and queued for sync. As soon as a connection becomes available, the app pushes the queued items in the correct dependency order and pulls fresh server state on top.

SECURITY AND PRIVACY
• The local database is encrypted at rest using SQLCipher with a per-user key.
• Authentication tokens are stored in the Android secure keystore.
• The app opts out of Android automatic cloud-backup and device-to-device transfer for all sensitive storage.
• All synchronised data flows only to KTI's own backend infrastructure; no third-party advertising, marketing, or analytics SDKs are bundled.

FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS

• Multi-entity support — engineers assigned to multiple KTI legal entities can switch between them without losing local context.
• Conflict-aware sync — overlapping timesheet entries are flagged before push; failed records surface in a clear Needs Attention list with one-tap fix routes.
• Idempotent push pipeline — every mutating request carries a unique idempotency key so a network blip never duplicates a report.
• Per-task content sync — task details, attached reports, and delivery notes refresh automatically when the task is opened or revisited.
• Background sync with throttling — the app keeps data fresh without draining the battery.

REQUIREMENTS

• Android 7.0 (Nougat) or higher.
• A KTI-issued engineer account and the URL of your KTI backend.
• Camera, storage, and location permissions for the on-site capture features (each is requested at runtime; the app continues to function if a permission is denied, with the related feature gracefully disabled).
