Kinship Vault is a private, end-to-end encrypted vault for the documents your family relies on — passports, ID cards, driver's licences, immigration papers, medical records, insurance, and emergency information. Everything is stored on your device, encrypted with hardware-backed keys, and recoverable through people you trust instead of a cloud account.

WHY KINSHIP VAULT IS DIFFERENT

• Truly offline. No account, no email, no server stores your data. Your documents never leave your phone unencrypted.

• Recoverable without trusting a company. Split your recovery key across 3–5 trusted contacts. Any 3 of them can help you back into your vault if your phone is lost — without any of them being able to read your documents.

• Hardware-backed encryption. Uses Android's StrongBox / Trusted Execution Environment to keep your master key off disk and out of memory. Biometric unlock, panic PIN, screenshot protection.

• Scan and recognise. On-device OCR reads passports, IDs, driver's licences and 100+ document types worldwide — and extracts fields automatically (name, document number, expiry, MRZ checksum). No cloud OCR.

• Family-aware. Tag every document with the person it belongs to. Filter your vault to one person in a tap — useful for school enrollment, immigration appointments, hospital admissions, or estate planning.

Kinship Vault uses Shamir Secret Sharing : your recovery key is split into shards, distributed to people you choose, and reassembled only with their cooperation. No single contact can read your documents. No company holds a master key.
