Flourhands

Most recipes are written to be read. Flourhands is built to be cooked
from — one step at a time, in type big enough to read from across the
counter, with your hands covered in flour.

Open a recipe, press Cook, and the app goes full screen. Swipe for the
next step. The amounts are written into the instructions themselves, and
they scale to the number of people you're feeding, so you never do the
arithmetic twice. Pull the ingredient list down from the top whenever you
want to check it. The screen stays awake while you work.

WHEN A RECIPE ASKS YOU TO WAIT

Steps with a time on them get a countdown ring and, if you want one, a
notification when it's up — so you can walk out of the kitchen. Long
waits are handled differently. A rise, a marinade, an overnight chill
hands you off with "See you in 8 hours", schedules a wake-up, and closes.
Tapping that notification puts you back on exactly the step you left.

BRING YOUR OWN RECIPES

Three ways in:

• Scan — photograph a cookbook page, a recipe card or a handwritten note,
or pick a photo you already have.
• Paste a link — Flourhands reads the page and lays the recipe out.
• Start from scratch — a blank form and your own instincts.

Scanned and pasted recipes come back as a draft: title, servings, times,
ingredients with amounts, and steps. You read it over, fix anything that
came out wrong, and save. Recipes you add stay private — yours and your
household's, nobody else's.

A SHELF TO BROWSE

Home holds a small, hand-picked collection of published recipes —
weeknight dinners, baking, slow and passive projects, vegetarian — with
search, categories, and a pick for tonight up top. You can browse it
without an account.

COOKING TOGETHER

A household is a small invite-only group. Send a link; whoever joins
shares a shelf and a feed of who cooked what, and how they rated it.
Leave whenever you like.

THE REST

• Saved recipes and your own, side by side in your cookbook
• Rate a dish the moment you finish it — the ones you've cooked are marked
• Light, dark, or whatever your phone is doing
• Sign in with email or Google
• Delete your account, and everything in it, from Settings

Notifications are only ever your timers, your rests, and your household's
activity. No marketing.
