Kam AI: Private Offline AI

Kam AI runs on your phone. You download a model once, and after that everything happens on the device: what you ask, what it answers, and anything you save. Nothing is uploaded. Put the phone in airplane mode and it still works.

There are four ways to work with it.

Logic Partner takes the other side. Describe a plan or an argument and it looks for what is weak in it, asks the question you have been avoiding, and says where the reasoning does not hold. It concedes when you are right, and it does not fold just because you pushed back. Most assistants agree with you by default. This one is built not to.

General handles ordinary questions. Brainstorm refuses to hand you ideas and pulls your own out of you instead, one question at a time. Workbench takes text you paste in and tightens, rewrites or reorganizes it.

Also inside: voice, so you can talk instead of typing, transcribed on the phone. Projects, which keep related chats under instructions they all follow. Memory of the durable things, all of it visible and deletable. Bookmarks for anything worth checking later. Search across everything you have written. And Discover, offline packs of short readings to pull one from and discuss.

What it is not good at. A model small enough to fit on a phone knows less than the large ones in data centers, and it will get obscure facts wrong, because small models guess more. Anything factual is worth checking, which is what the bookmarks are for. It cannot make images. Without a connection it knows nothing about recent events. And it is better at working with text you give it than at writing long polished documents from nothing.
