A private, encrypted contact vault that stays on your Android device.
Hidden Room is a private, encrypted contact vault for people who want a small set of sensitive contacts kept separate from the regular Android address book.
WHO HIDDEN ROOM IS FOR
Hidden Room is designed for journalists, attorneys, researchers, business leaders, safety-conscious professionals, and anyone who prefers a separate place for private personal or work contacts. It is especially useful when you do not want selected names, phone numbers, addresses, or messenger IDs mixed into the phone’s normal Contacts database.
A VAULT THAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
Your contacts stay on this Android app installation. Hidden Room has no account, cloud sync, advertising, analytics, tracking, or developer-operated contact database. The core vault works offline and never requests access to your system Contacts.
Each contact record is protected with AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption. A random vault key is protected jointly by your six-digit Hidden Room passcode and non-exportable Android Keystore material bound to this app installation. Android backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for the vault.
ORGANIZE THE DETAILS YOU ACTUALLY NEED
Store as many entries as needed for each person, including:
• Multiple phone numbers
• Multiple email addresses
• Secure-messenger IDs for supported services
• Postal addresses
• Websites and other URLs
Search across names, phone numbers, email addresses, messenger IDs, addresses, and URLs. Search tolerates incomplete text and minor spelling mistakes so you can find the right person quickly without exposing full values in the contact list.
DELIBERATE EXTERNAL ACTIONS
When Data Transfers is enabled, choose a saved phone number or messenger ID and confirm where it should go. Hidden Room can hand a recipient to Android’s call, message, email, browser, or supported messenger flow. The vault locks before the selected value leaves Hidden Room.
Address entry remains manual. Optional address suggestions run only after you tap Search and confirm the exact typed query. Android’s system geocoder may use a configured provider; Hidden Room never sends the rest of the contact or requests your device location.
PRIVACY AND SECURITY CONTROLS
• Six-digit vault passcode
• Optional randomized keypad layout
• Biometric unlock through Android system security
• Automatic lock choices for 1, 3, 5, or 10 minutes
• Masked names and values with press-and-hold reveal
• Data Transfers off by default
• Standard screenshot, screen-recording, overlay, and recent-app preview blocking
• Optional wrong-passcode erase after 5, 10, or 20 failed attempts
• Optional automatic deletion after a selected period without a successful unlock
• Emergency Erase with deliberate hold and confirmation
• No Contacts, camera, microphone, storage, or broad app-discovery permission
SIMPLE BY DESIGN
Hidden Room is focused on one job: keeping a private contact list accessible when you need it and concealed when you do not. The interface uses clear actions, restrained animation, and a dark violet visual system without requiring an account or complicated setup.
IMPORTANT LIMITS
There is no passcode recovery, account recovery, support override, or cloud backup. If the passcode is forgotten, the developer cannot open the vault.
Information intentionally copied or handed to Phone, Messages, Email, a browser, a messenger, a provider, or another recipient is no longer protected by Hidden Room and may remain in that app’s history, notifications, backups, or cloud services.
Hidden Room requests Android’s public secure-window protections, but no app can stop an external camera or protect a rooted, maliciously modified, or otherwise compromised device. Use a trusted keyboard and keep your device security current.
