It works but it sucks, I have to open a different menu then go hack to the main page just to refresh the temperature reading because for some reason it wont read live. And then the wifi connection doesnt work well at all, its on and off frequently, only bluetooth works and connects successfully 98% of the time atleast with our grill

After a year, I figured it out. It's not the app that's trash, it's the wifi module on the grill. It only accepts OLD SCHOOL b/g bands. 2.4Ghz. Damn near everything is way better than that. So go into your router settings, go to 2.4Ghz, select b/g/n mixed bands. This thing WILL NOT work on any router/modem will dual bands going. App is still trash. You need Bluetooth to connect to WiFi - super stupid.
