On October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation forces launched a war on the Gaza Strip. Most of the residents were displaced, which led to overcrowding in shelter centers and the lack of means of personal and public hygiene and drinking water. Wastewater is not disposed of in a safe manner due to the occupation’s destruction of infrastructure.  With the problem of solid waste disposal, it has accumulated in populated areas, which leads to the spread of diseases

Because preventing infectious diseases is possible with measures and procedures that may not be complicated, we have decided to launch an awareness campaign about diseases transmitted through water and food.

Objectives of this initiative
1. Spreading health awareness among the displaced.
2. Highlighting diseases transmitted through water and food.
3. Informing displaced people of precautions and procedures that reduce the chances of infection.
4. Trying to establish health awareness committees for displaced people and providing them with the necessary materials for sustainable health education.
5. Providing some personal hygiene and sterilization supplies for these centers, including chlorine to disinfect water.

Campaign tools
1. Presentations and lectures.
2. Dialogue and interactive sessions.
3. Awareness posters.
4. A page on Facebook and social media sites.
5. Distribution of personal hygiene supplies.

Volunteers
A founding group for the campaign has previous experience that opened the door to volunteering for those in the field of health and information technology.

Specialists 
A group of specialists prepared scientific educational material and prepared an integrated plan to ensure access to the largest number of shelter centers in light of the geographical fragmentation of the sector.
