Muld - Metal Detecting

By: IronSoil App
LiDAR, historical maps & DIME submission. The serious detecting app for Denmark.

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Muld is a metal-detecting app for Denmark. Find old sites with LiDAR terrain and historical maps, see every protected zone before you dig, and keep your finds on your own phone.
FEATURES
• LiDAR terrain — spot barrows, hollow ways, and ploughed-out features that aerial photos hide. Built on Dataforsyningen's national elevation model.
• Historical maps — switch between 1800s, early-1900s, and modern aerial imagery in a single tap. See where the old farmsteads, roads, and fields actually were.
• Protected zones — fortidsminder, beskyttede sten- og jorddiger, and kulturarvsarealer rendered on the map; tap any zone for its rules.
• Find journal — log unlimited finds with photos, depth, notes, and GPS. Stays on your device until you decide what to do with it.
• DIME submission — submit finds straight to the national metal-detecting register, pre-filled from your journal entry.
• Session tracking — record the path you walked. Keeps recording with your phone in your pocket. Compare routes with previous sessions.
• Journal export — export your journal as HTML, CSV, KML, or GPX. HTML reports include your photos.
• Offline maps — download map areas before you go. No signal needed in the field.
FREE & PREMIUM
The core app is free: the find journal, protected zones, DIME submission, and the free map layers. Log unlimited finds — never capped, never paywalled. Muld+ unlocks LiDAR terrain, the 1800s survey maps and the aerial archive, offline map downloads, GPX export, and full journal export. Muld+ is 79 DKK/month, or 615 DKK/year with a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan. Subscriptions managed through Google Play; cancel any time.
PRIVACY
Your finds, photos, notes, and tracks stay on your device. DIME submissions are sent only when you choose. Crash reports strip location. Accounts use email only. No analytics, no ads. Full GDPR policy at muld.dev/privacy.
DETECTING IS REGULATED IN DENMARK
You always need landowner permission on private land. Finds of cultural-historical significance ("danefæ") must be reported to the National Museum. Protected zones have additional restrictions. See muld.dev/terms for full details.
