InkMarkPad — Markdown Notes

InkMarkPad is a markdown notepad for people who would rather type than click through formatting menus.

Write in plain markdown, flip to preview to see a properly rendered page, and keep everything on your own device. No account, no sign-up, no sync, no network access of any kind.

WRITE IN PLAIN TEXT
Headings, bold, italic, strikethrough and inline code all come from the keyboard you are already using. Bullet lists, numbered lists, checkboxes, block quotes, dividers, links, pipe tables and fenced code blocks are all supported and all render properly in preview.

If you would rather not type the symbols, the formatting bar above the keyboard wraps whatever you have selected — select a word, tap B, and it is bold. Tap a list button and it works on whole lines, tap it again and the marker comes off.

CHECKLISTS THAT ACTUALLY WORK
Tick a checkbox in preview and the change is written straight back into the markdown source, so the raw text and the rendered page never disagree. Press return on a list line and the next item starts itself, numbered lists counting up as they go. Press return on an empty item to end the list.

FIFTEEN TEMPLATES
Meeting notes, daily log, weekly review, project brief, decision record, habit tracker, travel plan, reading notes, Cornell study notes, interview prep, bug report, code snippet, release checklist, recipe card and a gratitude page. Tap one and it stamps its structure into a fresh note for you to fill in.

FIND THINGS AGAIN
Search across titles, body text and tags at once. Tag notes with whatever labels suit you and filter the library by tapping a chip. Pin the notes you return to so they stay at the top. Sort by recently edited, recently created, title or length. Swipe a card to pin or delete it, with an undo if you change your mind.

SEE WHAT YOU HAVE WRITTEN
A hand-drawn ink ribbon on the home screen fills in a segment for each of the last seven days you wrote on, with your current streak underneath. The insights screen charts your words for the week, shows how your notes are tagged, and keeps a few quiet records — longest streak, days written on, biggest page.

MADE FOR READING AND WRITING
Pick your text size with a live sample, switch the editor between monospace and proportional type, choose whether notes open in preview or in the editor, and show or hide the live word, character and reading-time counter.

EVERYTHING STAYS HERE
InkMarkPad has no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no networking code. The Android build requests no permissions at all — not even internet access. Your notes are yours, they live on your phone, and nothing about them is collected or shared.
