Markling: Markdown Editor

Markling is a Markdown editor and .md file viewer for Android phones, tablets, and foldables. Write notes, documentation, and README files in plain text, read them in a clean Preview with tables, Mermaid diagrams, and LaTeX math, and keep everything as ordinary Markdown files in folders you choose. Core editing works offline, with no account or ads.

WRITE YOUR WAY
Edit Markdown with syntax highlighting, formatting tools, line numbers, find and replace, and Undo/Redo. Preview is read-only by default, with working links and document anchors. Turn on Allow Editing in Preview in Settings to reveal and edit the Markdown around your selection.

READ WITH CLARITY
Preview headings, lists, tables, task checkboxes, code, and images. Use the outline to jump between sections. Word and character counts describe readable content consistently in every view. Adjust the font, choose a preview style, or switch to focus mode. Light and dark appearances are included.

ROOM TO WORK
Phones and narrow windows keep Edit and Preview one tap apart. Wide tablet and foldable windows add Split view, an adjustable divider, synchronized scrolling, and a persistent outline. Hardware keyboard shortcuts help you keep writing.

KEEP YOUR OWN FILES
Open documents with Android's system file picker. Browse a folder as a workspace, return to Recent Files, or open Markling from a file manager. Documents save in place when the chosen provider permits writing. Your notes remain ordinary Markdown files, and the app keeps a local recovery copy of unsaved changes when needed.

DIAGRAMS AND MATH
Preview Mermaid diagrams, inline and display LaTeX math, and footnotes using libraries bundled in the app. Remote HTTPS images require a network connection. Local editing and bundled rendering work offline.

SHARE THE RESULT
Export paginated PDF or standalone HTML, or use Android's printing system. Diagrams and math render in HTML and PDF, with readable fallback for invalid source. Image access follows the permissions of your file provider.

An optional one-time Android Pro unlock adds PDF/printing and self-contained HTML exports. Google Play shows your localized price before you confirm. Restore Purchases uses the Google Play account used for your purchase.

Opening, reading, editing, saving, Preview, Split view, outline, find and replace, and line numbers remain unlimited and free. Android Pro has no subscription or trial. No separate Markling account or ads.
