Chromatic Tap

Chromatic Tap is a color matching game built around one clear task: look at the colored circle, read the four name options, and tap the name that matches before the timer reaches zero.

Each session uses a 30-second clock. Correct answers add to the score and can add a bonus second, while wrong taps show feedback and move the round forward without adding points.

🎨 CORE GAMEPLAY

Tap Play on the start screen to start a session.

A large colored circle appears in the center of the gameplay screen. Below it, four buttons show color names in a 2×2 grid.

Only one button matches the color shown in the circle.

Tap the correct name to score one point.

After a correct answer, the correct button flashes green with a quick scale animation, and the next color appears.

If a wrong name is tapped, the selected button highlights red, the correct answer highlights green, and the wrong button shakes briefly.

The game then continues to the next round.

🌈 COLOR SET

Chromatic Tap uses twelve colors:

• Ed
• Orange
• Yellow
• Green
• Cyan
• Blue
• Purple
• Pink
• Brown
• Grey
• White
• Black

Each round chooses a target color from this set.

Four answer buttons appear with color names, and their positions can change between rounds.

The target circle uses a smooth fade-in animation when a new color appears.

⏱️ TIMER

Each session starts with 30 seconds.

The remaining time is shown in the header area as a large countdown number.

A horizontal progress bar also shows how much time remains.

Correct answers can add one bonus second to the timer, up to the 30-second cap.

Wrong taps and waiting do not add time.

The timer uses visual states during the session:

• Normal state while more time remains
• Warning state when 10 seconds or less remain
• Critical state when 5 seconds or less remain

In the critical state, the countdown can use a subtle pulse effect.

When the timer reaches zero, the session ends and the game over dialog appears.

📊 SCORE AND RECORD

The current score appears in the upper-left area during gameplay.

The score increases by one after each correct match.

A quick pop animation appears when the score updates.

When the session ends, the game over dialog shows the final score and the saved high score from earlier sessions.

If the final score is higher than the saved high score, Chromatic Tap marks it as a new personal record.

The start screen also shows the saved high score in a card.

🎮 TOUCH CONTROLS

Chromatic Tap uses tap controls only.

Tap Play on the start screen.

Tap one of the four color name buttons during gameplay.

Tap Play Again after the session ends to start another run.

Return to the menu from the game over dialog when needed.

There are no swipe controls, drag gestures, keyboard inputs, lives, levels, account systems, or extra game modes.

🎨 VISUAL STYLE

Chromatic Tap uses a dark interface with soft purple accents.

The target circle uses a radial gradient, outer ring, shadow, and highlight.

The start screen includes the game title, the tagline Match the color!, decorative color dots, a high score card, and a Play button.

During gameplay, a divider separates the score and timer area from the main playfield.

The layout is designed for portrait phone screens.

📱 SESSION FLOW

Chromatic Tap uses a direct screen flow:

• Start screen with Play button and high score
• Gameplay screen with score, timer, target circle, and four answer buttons
• Game over dialog with final score, high score, Play Again, and menu option

Each new session starts with a 30-second timer and a score of zero.

Chromatic Tap focuses on color recognition, timed choices, score tracking, high score display, and simple tap controls.
