Outbreak Vanguard

In a world where Germs become more visible in causing diseases and disorder, the student/player acts as a Hygieener who helps in preventing diseases from further spreading to help the society recover.

In this adventure game, the student is a part of a volunteer organization called the Volunteer Action Network Guardians (VANGUARD). VANGUARD is dedicated to stopping the spread of diseases, using all possible preventive actions, from the Outbreak—an event where Germs suddenly become bigger making them visible to the humans’ naked eye. As a Hygieener, the student/player’s job is to aid people affected by diseases and help them adapt to this new world that they have to live in.

Outbreak Vanguard is a single-player mobile game that lets the students/players fill in the role of volunteer Hygieneers in an ongoing pandemic where they, with other Hygieneers, fight against now-visible Germs to stop the spread of diseases. The game is focused on teaching students/players the lessons under the Prevention and Control of Diseases and Disorder of the DepEd Health Curriculum for Grade 4 and Grade 8. Outbreak Vanguard is created to provide a fun and interactive way of learning disease-prevention lessons taught in classrooms.

Outbreak Vanguard is a mobile-gaming application funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in partnership with the University of the Philippines - Diliman (UPD) that can be used as supplementary material for teachers in teaching Prevention and Control of Diseases and Disorder.
