ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE — HOW GUARDIANKID WORKS
GuardianKid uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect which app is currently open on the screen. This is essential to its core parental-control function: it lets GuardianKid apply the screen-time limits and app blocks you set, by showing a lock screen when a blocked or time-limited app is opened. GuardianKid only reads the package name of the foreground app — it does NOT read, collect, store, or transmit the content of your screen, your messages, keystrokes, or any personal data. You enable this service yourself during setup, a persistent notification shows while protection is active, and you can turn it off at any time in Android Settings > Accessibility.

PRIVACY FIRST
GuardianKid has no account and no servers of its own. Screen-time data, the apps you block, and your PIN all stay on the device and are never transmitted. Camera frames used for the distance check are analysed in memory and discarded immediately — no image is stored or sent anywhere.

PREMIUM
GuardianKid is free to use. An optional one-time "Premium unlock" supports development — no subscriptions, no recurring charges.
