Aubade: Daily Affirmations

One short line a day, set large on a sheet of warm paper under a rising sun. And on your home screen, before you have opened the app at all.

Aubade is a daily affirmation app built around a single idea: the line should find you. Add the widget and the day's line is there at a glance, turning the page at midnight. Write a line of your own, pin it, and the widget shows yours instead.

ONE LINE A DAY
Every morning a new sentence arrives, written in the first person, in plain words you can say about yourself and mean. "I finish what I start." "I can slow down without falling behind." Three hundred and seventy of them, so a whole year goes by without a repeat. Every line was written for the app. None of them is a quote, and none of them promises you anything.

ON YOUR HOME SCREEN
A small and a medium widget for the home screen, and one for the lock screen. At the top of each hour on iPhone the sun rises on the widget and the line fades up. The day's line changes at midnight on its own, even if the app stays closed. On Android, a resizable home-screen widget shows the same line.

YOUR OWN WORDS
Some days the line you need is one only you can write. Write it, keep it, pin it to the widget. Change it whenever you like. Your lines stay on your phone.

TEN THEMES, YOUR CHOICE
Calm, focus, courage, self-worth, gratitude, body, money, relationships, morning and night. Switch off the ones that are not for you and your days only draw from the rest.

KEEP THE GOOD ONES
Press the seal on a line to save it. Past days keeps the line each day was given, so a good one is never lost.

BREATHE WITH IT
Open a line and let it swell and settle over a slow count of four. Follow it if you like. Tap anywhere to stop.

SHARE A CARD
Send any line as a clean card with the sun on it, sized for messages and stories.

ONE A DAY, OR NONE
If you want a reminder, choose the hour and Aubade sends one notification a day with that day's line. It is never switched on for you, and there is nothing else it will ever send.

NO ACCOUNT, NO STREAKS
There is no sign-up, no server and no score to keep. Nothing you write leaves your phone. Missing a day costs you nothing.

FIVE LANGUAGES
English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and German, each written by hand rather than run through a translator.

FREE, WITH A SMALL AD
A small banner on the themes and settings screens keeps Aubade free. The daily sheet never carries an ad. Nothing is sold, and every feature is free.
