Each experiment starts with a base recipe or dish, the one change you made, a quick taste rating from one to five, and a short note about the result or next idea. The Add screen keeps capture fast and focused, and saving a new experiment clears the form so you can move on to the next trial without extra taps. Your experiments are stored locally on your device, so your notes stay available even when you are offline. The Bench dashboard gives you an at-a-glance view of your total experiment count, your average taste rating, and the three most recent trial cards. Tapping a recent card opens its edit view, making it easy to refine a note or correct a score. The Trials tab lists all experiments with the newest first, and you can search by base recipe or tweak to find a specific batch quickly. From that list you can edit or delete any experiment whenever your results change or a trial no longer matters. The Ratings tab arranges every experiment onto shelves labeled one through five, so you can compare your best and worst results side by side. This makes it easy to spot which substitutions consistently earn high marks and which tweaks should be avoided. Spoonkin uses a warm kitchen-inspired layout with experiment cards that resemble labeled ceramic ramekins resting on parchment, but the real focus stays on practical record keeping. Because your experiment data stays on your device, your recipe notes remain private and simple to manage.
