HOW IT WORKS

Point your camera at a vehicle and tap to scan, or type a plate manually. Each plate is checked against the NZ Police stolen vehicle database. If a match is found, you get an alert with vehicle details. With Pro, patrol mode scans continuously as you drive or walk — no tapping needed. Follow the in-app safety guidance to report matches to NZ Police.

PRIVACY

All scanning happens on your device. Unmatched plates stay in memory only and are never saved. Detections are stored only on your device and automatically deleted after 31 days.

PlatePatrol is for informational purposes only. Do NOT approach or pursue any vehicle. Users have no enforcement authority. Always report matches to NZ Police: call 111 (emergency), 105 (non-emergency), or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 (anonymous).
