User Reviews

Users generally like Rakuten Drive for fast transfers, ease of use, and useful cloud storage. However, frequent complaints center on misrepresented storage quotas, the need to use a web browser for account management, bugs and unstable behavior, the absence of a dark mode, and sign-in/account creation problems on Android (including Outlook sign-ins). Addressing storage disclosures, in-app account management, stability, and UI customization would address the main concerns while preserving the positives.

Pros

Fast transfer speeds.
Easy to use and user-friendly.
Useful cloud storage integration within the app.
Free storage options (5GB on sign-up + 5GB bonus; some promos mention 10GB).
Generally reliable for basic tasks/positive initial experiences.

Cons

Storage quota misrepresentation (promised 10GB but users often receive 5GB or 1GB).
In-app account management redirects to a web browser; changes must be made outside the app.
Bugs and instability (errors, uploaded files disappearing).
No dark mode (UI lacks a dark theme).
Android sign-in issues / Outlook sign-in problems (difficulty logging in or creating accounts).
