User Reviews

User reviews of the Dropbox Passwords Android app reveal that while the desktop version and Dropbox account integration work well, the Android app suffers from frequent crashes, poor autofill support, problematic sign-in and device authorization, and syncing inconsistencies. The app's instability and frustrating login flows often lead to loss of access to passwords. However, users appreciate its seamless integration with Dropbox, easy navigation, and inclusion of 2FA code support. Overall, the app is considered immature and buggy for Android, and many users recommend alternative password managers until improvements are made.
Pros
  • Integrates well with Dropbox accounts, allowing users already using Dropbox to access passwords within the ecosystem.
  • Provides 2FA codes and easy navigation, simplifying password management once logged in.
  • Desktop and PC versions work well, with good syncing and browser extensions.
  • Allows importing passwords from other password managers without issue.
  • Back up of encryption keys to physical media offers extra security.
Cons
  • Frequent app crashes, instability, and flickering, especially during biometric login, causing crashes or phone restarts.
  • Poor and unreliable autofill function on Android, often not recognizing login fields or requiring manual copy-paste.
  • Difficult or impossible device authorization/sign-in process, especially when switching devices, leading to account resets and data loss if recovery keys are lost.
  • Syncing issues between Android and desktop versions, leading to inconsistent password data across devices.
  • Clunky interface in Android app, with slow response times, memory leaks, and forced restarts needed regularly.

Totally confusing app not suitable as a replacement for Google password manager. Downloaded again but it needs me to log in with a password that I know nothing about. So which comes first. The chicken or the egg. How Google can insist on using this junk I don't know. I'm using my phone and don't have a computer since windows killed it off with an incompatible windows 11. Why would anyone need Dropbox on an android phone? I had it but as soon as I download this manager it gets deleted.

This app has been clunky ever since installing it. Now the app has signed me out for no particular reason. To sign back in I need to ask permission from another device which is sent and is approved. Unfortunately this doesn't work and the app is left hanging waiting for permission. Reinstalling didn't work. Now I Can't access any of my passwords on my phone. I will be installing a new app.
