Detoxcellence: Exposure Index

Detoxcellence rates everyday products and habits by the avoidable exposure they add — and names a cleaner swap for each.

POINT AND CHECK
Point the camera at a frying pan, a food container, a candle, a shampoo, a water bottle or a can: the app names the three things it looks most like, you tap the right one, and its Exposure Index entry opens. Where it matters it asks one question — which coating, what is in the can, organic or conventional. A room check reads one photo of a shelf and lists what it may show, highest burden first, with the top swap. Recognition runs on your phone; photos are never stored or sent.

THE EXPOSURE INDEX
189 entries across water, air, kitchen, plastics, food, personal care, home and environment: nonstick pans, plastic food containers, scented candles, tap water, canned food and more. Each has a Detox Score from 1 to 100 (higher means lower avoidable burden), built openly from three ratings — chemical hazard, everyday exposure and persistence — with the arithmetic shown. Each rating lists the peer-reviewed or agency studies behind it, or says plainly that it is unsourced.

WORKS OFFLINE
The whole Index is on your phone, so it works in a shop or on a plane. When you are online it updates from detoxcellence.com's open data.

YOUR EXPOSURE SCORE
Fifteen quick questions about water, air, cooking, personal care, cleaning and food give you a score out of 100 and the one change that cuts yours most. Every result is kept on your phone, so you can watch your score move as you make swaps.

A WEEKLY SWAP
Switch on the weekly reminder and pick a day and time: one swap from the Index each week, starting with the area your score points to.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account, no ads, no tracking. Your photos, answers, scores and settings stay on your phone.
