User Reviews

Overall, reviewers repeatedly praise the Datadog Android app for basic monitoring and some mobile-optimized benefits, but reliability remains a major concern. The most recurring issues are login/authentication friction (SSO/SAML with frequent redirects), dashboards and graphs that fail to render or continuously reload, and on-call features that sometimes crash the app. Additional complaints cite slow performance, freezes, and notification/configuration problems such as non-per-contact volumes. A few users report improvements after updates (e.g., 5.6.2). In short, the app has usable monitoring capabilities but inconsistent stability and UX hinder its effectiveness for mission-critical use.
Pros
  • Allows quick debugging and basic IT monitoring features.
  • Mobile experience is sometimes preferred over the web UI.
  • Reliability can improve after updates (e.g., version 5.6.2 fixed issues).
Cons
  • Cumbersome login flow with SSO/SAML/Okta leading to multiple redirects and sign-in prompts.
  • Dashboard and graph rendering is unreliable, with partial loads, constant reloads, or empty charts.
  • On-call feature can cause the app to crash or become unusable.
  • Overall performance issues, including slowness and freezes.
  • Notification/configuration problems, such as incorrect volume on calls and lack of filtering or customization options.

Datadogshit Alerting - we thought this was an appropriate solution for alerting, but this app has been torture. Touch the alert wrong while still waking up, and it'll dismiss the visual parts without stopping the sound. Now you can't make it stop without shutting your phone off. Even going through the app and acknowledging the alert won't make the sound stop. Not even hard stopping the app makes it stop. Don't fall for the sales pitch. Keep anything else for alerts. This is horrible.

This app requires to set as default app to identify caller ID & spam for volume override, so I cant use any spam blocking feature from built in / 3rd party app. I receive many spam calls in a day, so its a must have to at least able to block calls outside contact.
