Speed Reading - Trainer

Speed Reading - Trainer teaches you to read faster the honest way: every timed reading run is paired with a comprehension quiz, and your next target pace is adjusted from how well you actually understood the passage — not from a number you dialed in yourself.

Most speed reading apps just flash your own text at a speed you pick and stop there. This one measures. During a run the app tracks the words actually shown against the time you spent actively reading, so the words-per-minute figure on your results screen is a real reading speed, not the stepper value you set before you started. Finish less than 80% of a passage and nothing gets recorded. Then a short quiz checks what you understood against the passage's own answer key, and your comprehension score decides what happens next: below 70% eases your target pace back, 90% or higher nudges it up, anything in between holds steady. Read, get quizzed, get a pace that reflects reality.

TRAIN YOUR WAY
• RSVP mode flashes one word at a time at your chosen pace
• Chunk mode groups words so you practice taking in more per glance
• Adjustable words-per-minute and chunk size, mid-run or before you start
• Pick from a built-in passage library, generate a fresh one, or paste your own article, email, or study material

A REAL PASSAGE LIBRARY, NOT ONE SAMPLE
Six bundled passages across beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels rotate in as you finish them, each with its own comprehension quiz — so you're never re-answering questions you've already memorized. Want something on a specific topic? Generate an original, AI-written passage with its own quiz at your chosen difficulty and target pace, two per day at no cost.

TRACK PROGRESS THAT MEANS SOMETHING
Your Progress tab shows average and best measured speed, your daily training streak, total sessions, and a bar chart of your recent runs alongside your comprehension average — so you can see whether your pace is actually climbing or just your guesswork is. An optional daily reminder, capped at one per day and only sent when you haven't trained yet, keeps a streak from quietly breaking because you forgot.

BUILT FOR AN ACTUAL PRACTICE HABIT
• Read from a saved AI passage, the rotating sample library, or your own pasted text — no account or sign-up required to start
• Your recommended pace carries over automatically to your next session
• Light, dark, and system theme, plus a full language picker
• Nothing you read needs to leave your device unless you choose to save it

WHAT'S FREE
Unlimited RSVP and chunk training at any speed, the full six-passage sample library with quizzes, pasting your own text, two AI-generated passages a day, your complete stats — average and best speed, streak, session history — and the adaptive pace recommendation. Free forever, no paywall on the core training loop.

WHAT PRO ADDS
• Unlimited AI-generated passages instead of two a day, so your practice material never runs out and your comprehension score is never just memory
• The speed-vs-comprehension curve on your Progress tab, showing exactly where your understanding starts to fall behind your pace
• No ads anywhere in the app

Speed Reading - Trainer is built for students working through a reading list, professionals clearing a backlog of articles and reports, and anyone who tried a speed reading app before and stopped trusting the number it gave them. Your comprehension score comes from a real answer key, and your speed comes from a stopwatch, not a slider.

Pro is offered as a monthly subscription at $4.99 or an annual subscription at $29.99. Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and you can manage or cancel it any time in your device's account settings.
