Review summary

CloudBeats excels at cloud-based music streaming with solid FLAC/metadata support and a clean, simple UI, plus a sleep timer and affordable pricing. However, reliability issues (bugs, occasional corruption) and usability/feature gaps can hinder the experience for some users.
Pros
  • Reliable cloud-based streaming from Google Drive (and other cloud services like OneDrive/Dropbox)
  • Strong FLAC support with metadata syncing, making purchased libraries integrate smoothly
  • Simple, intuitive UI that focuses on playback without unnecessary features
  • Sleep timer feature adds convenience for listening in bed or in the car
  • Low cost or free tier makes it accessible
Cons
  • Bugs and glitches affect reliability; some users report crashes or instability
  • Navigation and overall UX can be clunky with many clicks and difficulty accessing artist/album paths
  • Notable feature gaps: missing playback controls (e.g., 10-second rewind), lyrics display, and editing/correcting metadata
  • Some reports of file corruption after downloading files from the cloud

The app seems good, but there is a big downside for people who have a large music collection. (Mine is around 1500 albums). When you look under artist and then go into the artists albums there is no option to list them in an alternative way. The general standard is to list albums buy artist then year, but there just doesn't seem to be a way to do this with CloudBeats. A shame as that is all it would need for this app to be near enough to 5 *****.

the best cloud player for me. I tried other apps that scan my entire library on OneDrive. 3 days later still going. all I want is to be able to access my OneDrive and play from it and download if I wish. this does it so well and so simply. 2 gripes: (1) you can't use it on landscape mode (I use it on a tablet). (2) on Android you can't set a default folder (say my music folder on OneDrive). Workaround: toggle switch to offline to navigate quickly to music folder then toggle again. great app.

Plays music off of a network share well! Works even better since I pared it with a home network VPN (Tailscale).

Cloudbeats is the best way to listen to your music from your cloud option. It runs smoothly and efficiently. Other apps I've tried draw way too much battery. The only issue I had was I had to rearrange my Library into small chunks as scanning all 20000 songs I have would always fail.
