Braintoll: Flashcard Blocker

Learn before you scroll. Braintoll is an app blocker that puts flashcards between you and your most distracting apps. Open social media, videos or games and Braintoll asks one study question first. Answer it and the app opens. Every reflexive open becomes a few seconds of real learning.

Plain app blockers only say "no", and they get switched off by week two. A flashcard app only works if you remember to open it. Braintoll does both at once, at the exact moment you would otherwise start scrolling.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Choose the apps you want to toll: social media, short videos, games, anything that eats your attention.
2. Build your library of learning cards: write your own, start from a preset, import an Anki deck, or let AI create a set.
3. Open a blocked app and Braintoll shows a card from your library instead.
4. Reveal the answer and rate your recall. Mark enough cards Easy (you choose how many) and the app unlocks for a time you set.

LEARN WHILE YOU CUT SCREEN TIME
• Spaced repetition: rate each card Again, Hard, Good or Easy. Cards you struggle with come back sooner, so what you learn actually sticks.
• Flashcards for anything: vocabulary, languages, exam prep, school, university, work or general knowledge.
• Ready-made sets: 20 presets including English B2 and C1 vocabulary, Spanish and German for beginners, world capitals, flags, the periodic table and history.
• Anki import: bring your existing .apkg decks, including your review progress.
• AI flashcard maker: turn a topic, pasted notes, or a PDF, PowerPoint or Word file into a full study set. Review and edit every card before you save.
• Folders and sets: organize your library and choose which sets are active.

FOCUS ON YOUR TERMS
• Block only the apps you pick. Nothing else is touched.
• Weekly schedule: decide on which days and hours the toll applies, for example during study time or before bed.
• Set how many cards it takes to unlock and how long access lasts.
• A respectful "Keep my attention" option lets you walk away instead of opening the app.

TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
• See known cards, your daily streak, days studied and time spent learning.
• Find the cards you forget most and see which apps cost you the most tolls.

PRIVACY FIRST
Braintoll uses Android's Accessibility Service only to recognize when one of the apps you selected comes to the foreground. It never reads your messages, text or screen content. Your cards and settings stay on your device. Topics, text or documents are sent to the card generation service only when you ask AI to create a set. No ads.

FREE AND PREMIUM
The free plan blocks one app and includes 3 AI-generated sets per month. Premium blocks unlimited apps, raises AI generation to 10 sets per day (30 per month) and unlocks detailed statistics. Available as a monthly, yearly or lifetime purchase.

Good to know: AI-generated sets are available to users aged 18 and over. AI can make mistakes, so read your cards before you study them. Braintoll is available in English and German.

Turn your next scroll into something you will remember.
