BLOCKROT

Fill a row. Fill a column. Watch it clear.

Then it starts to rot.

BLOCKROT is a block puzzle with a roguelike underneath it and something worse
underneath that. Every depth you survive makes the board more hostile: rot that
spreads through your own blocks, ash that lines clear around instead of
removing, columns taken from you permanently.

And a Watcher that pays attention.

THE WATCHER
It is not scenery. It has attention, it rises when you place and falls when you
clear, and it takes turns. It stares and demands a line. It marks cells and pays
you for filling them. It reaches a hand across the board one cell at a time,
rotting everything it touches — and you can see every cell it will take before
it takes them. Deep enough, it reaches into your hand and removes a piece.

BUILD SOMETHING
Beat each depth's score quota by building a multiplier, not by surviving. Chips
from what you cleared, mult from what you built, and the product slamming into
your score. Every term is counted out one at a time so you can see exactly where
a number came from, and long clearing streaks stop adding to your multiplier and
start multiplying it. Take cards that change the rules rather than the numbers:
make rot score triple, make single lines pay nothing and doubles pay quadruple,
make your combo never reset.

CARVE THE BOARD
Sigils are permanent and spatial. Choose a row or a column and bless it forever:
double every clear along it, forbid rot from taking hold, ward it against the
Watcher's reach. Cross two and the intersection pays quadruple.

TAKE A CURSE
Curses pay you up front and multiply every shard for the rest of the run. They
are how big scores happen. They are also how runs end.

28 OMENS
One rolls every depth and lasts exactly that depth. Fog hides your hand until
you lift a piece. The Mirror deals you the same piece three times. The Hollow
puts a piece in your hand that is not real. A Kindness does nothing at all,
which is worse.

A DAILY DESCENT
The date is the seed. Everyone who plays today gets the same pieces in the same
order, the same omens, the same offering — with none of your upgrades to help.

FIVE TIERS
Each unlocks by how deep you have actually gone. The last one is called The Maw.

still works with them off.
