GridLord: Rogue Block Puzzle

GridLord is a block puzzle game with one twist: every run rewrites the rules.

Drag blocks onto an 8x8 grid. Fill a row or a column and it clears. That part you already know — it is the block puzzle you have played a hundred times, and it feels just as good here. No timer. No lives. No pressure. Just you and the grid.

Then you clear your first floor, and the game offers you a perk.

WHY THIS BLOCK PUZZLE IS DIFFERENT
Perks do not hand you bonus points. They change how the board works.

• Gravity Core — clear a line and everything above it falls down
• Reflection Core — your clears mirror across the grid for free lines
• Bomb Core — every 5th block detonates a 3x3 blast
• Chromatic — clear mostly one color and the whole move doubles
• Magnet Core — compacts your emptiest column back to the floor
• Glass Cannon — 2.5x score, but your safety net is gone

Pick one perk per floor and stack them. By the sixth floor you are not playing the game you started: you are running a machine you built, and no two runs build the same one. There are 25 perks, and 4 of them are cursed — enormous power for a real price.

EVERY FLOOR FIGHTS BACK
Every fifth floor changes a rule on you. Columns Only stops rows from clearing at all. Double or Nothing doubles every line — and the danger with it. Stone Field buries the board in blocks that take two hits. No Rescue takes away your second chances.

Special cells raise the stakes further: score multipliers, stubborn stones, frozen ice you cannot build on, wildcards that count as any color, and core cells that pay out currency when you clear them.

A STORY TO CLEAR, TOO
Classic mode is endless — one run, as deep as you can push it. Story mode is authored: 40 hand-built levels, each a board with a job to do.

• Reach a target score before you run out of room
• Clear a set number of lines
• Collect the core cells buried in the grid
• Survive a fixed number of placements
• Break the exact tiles the level marks for you

Every level scores up to three stars and the stars pay out Cores. The early ones teach; the later ones stop being about a lucky hand and start being about the order you place things in.

DUEL THE RIVAL LORD
Challenge the Rival Lord to the exact same board you are playing. You see the score to beat from your very first move. Win and he gets better — the ladder climbs to rank 10, where he stops making mistakes and starts rotating pieces like you do. No internet required.

Or play a friend: same seed, same pieces, best score wins.
