User Reviews

Users like BenchApp for basic team management (schedules, rosters, live headcount) and see it as a solid option with improvements. However, Android users repeatedly report stability issues: intrusive, non-dismissable notification pop-ups, broken or missing schedules/imports, buggy chat (GIFs/emojis), device crashes, and pushy upgrade prompts. The app remains useful for leagues, but ongoing Android-specific fixes and reliability improvements are needed.

Pros

Covers core team needs like game schedules and rosters, making basic management straightforward.
Helps organize team logistics on the go, including a live headcount view from mobile.
Generally viewed as a solid option for leagues, with improvements over time after earlier bugs.
Chat has shown improvements in updates, contributing to its usability for team communication.

Cons

Persistent, non-dismissible notification pop-ups (Don't get left out of the loop) that block use of the app.
Chat is buggy on Android (GIFs/emojis not working; general instability).
Schedule imports and templates can be broken or unusable, with schedules missing after updates.
App crashes or won’t open on certain devices (e.g., Pixel Fold, Pixel 7) and overall reliability is inconsistent.
Aggressive or frequent prompts to upgrade to premium.

Recent reviews

Cannot edit game scores in the app. Chat is buggy and the send "up arrow" is in the way blocking text on the screen. With every update it feels like one step forward and two steps back.
