NetScope is a pocket-sized network engineer's toolkit. It tells you, in seconds,
whether your internet is healthy — and if not, where the problem is.

No accounts. No cloud sync. No background tracking. Open the app, tap "Run full
diagnostic", and read the answer.

━━━ WHAT YOU CAN DO ━━━

• SPEED TEST — Measure download, upload, ping and jitter against major public
endpoints (Cloudflare, OVH, Linode). Results land within ±10 % of Ookla on the
same link. Live gauge, ping waveform, sparklines of your last 10 runs.

• NETWORK SANITY — A composite A–F health grade built from eight vitals:
latency, jitter, packet loss, DNS lookup time, download, upload, IPv6
reachability, and MTU. Designed so a non-technical user can answer
"is my internet OK right now?" in one glance.

• WHOAMI — Your public IPv4 / IPv6, ISP, ASN, geographic city/country,
reverse-DNS hostname, VPN / proxy flag, plus local network info
(SSID, RSSI, channel, MTU). Tap any row to copy.

• DNS LOOKUP — Resolve A, AAAA, MX, NS, TXT and CNAME records for any domain
via Cloudflare's DNS-over-HTTPS resolver. Per-record TTL and MX priority.

• TRACEROUTE — See every hop your traffic takes to a target. Per-hop hostname,
IP, ASN and latency. Uses UDP-TTL probes so it works without root.

• LOCAL NETWORK SCANNER — Discover devices on your Wi-Fi: IP, MAC, hostname,
vendor (OUI lookup), and open ports for quick service hints.

• BLUETOOTH SCANNER — Live list of nearby Bluetooth Low Energy advertisements:
name, MAC / rotating identifier, RSSI, advertised services, manufacturer
data. Tap a device for the raw advertisement and RSSI history.

• UNKNOWN-TRACKER SCANNER — Detects nearby Bluetooth trackers (AirTag-class,
Tile, SmartTag, Chipolo). Flags persistent unknown trackers that may be
moving with you. Scanning is 100 % local — nothing about other devices ever
leaves your phone.

• HISTORY — Every test you run is saved locally with timestamp, network,
numbers and grade. Swipe to delete. Clear-all in one tap.

• No account, no sign-in, no profile.
• No cross-device sync. Your test history lives on this phone only.
• No third-party analytics SDKs. No behavioural tracking.
• Speed-test traffic goes only to the well-known measurement endpoints we
list (Cloudflare, OVH, Linode) and your chosen public-IP lookup.
• Bluetooth scanning is local. Tracker scanning is local.
• Ads are served by Google AdMob and respect your system-level ad-tracking
settings. You can opt out of personalised ads from inside the app.

━━━ ENGINEERING-INSTRUMENT UI ━━━

NetScope deliberately looks like a piece of test equipment: monospaced
numerals, tabular figures, crosshair tick marks, radar / oscilloscope
visualisations, dark theme by default with a light theme available.
Pick from four accent palettes (signal, cyan, amber, magenta) and three
density presets.

━━━ PERMISSIONS, EXPLAINED ━━━

• INTERNET / NETWORK STATE — required to run the speed test, DNS, whoami
and traceroute.
• Wi-Fi state / location (when the OS requires it) — only used to read
your current SSID, RSSI and channel. We never request background
location.
• Bluetooth scan / connect — only used while you're on the Bluetooth or
Tracker screen. Foreground only.
• Vibration - short haptic feedback on test completion.

Built with React Native / Expo. Single codebase, fully native networking
on Android.
