Receptive ASL Fingerspelling Android

Receptive ASL Fingerspelling

Use this app to build your receptive skills and (finally) master fingerspelling!

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Many ASL learners pick up the alphabet fairly easily, but find that their receptive skills are lacking when they converse with a Deaf person. This can be frustrating for both the learner and their conversation partner. This app was designed for both those with little to no knowledge of the ASL fingerspelling alphabet and for those who need practice with rapidly fingerspelled words. Use the Learn page to reference the handshapes that correspond to each letter. Use the Letter Game to quiz yourself on the letters. Then, use the Word Game to build your receptive skills with adjustable speed and word length. If this app helped you, make sure to leave a review! If you have any suggestions for improving the app, let us know, and we'll be sure to take it into consideration!

User Reviews

This app is great! The speeds go quite fast and the letters are fairly easy to understand if you're an experienced signer. However, the images are not smooth and rather flash which can be a problem for some, and I think it'd be great to fix that. Until it's fixed, don't use it if you're sensitive to flashing images. Great for offline practice!

Can't turn sound off. And this seems to be ripping off Bill Vicar's sign game. An actually Deaf person. And the hand pictures are stretched out.
